EcoJews of the Bay proudly presents:

The 3rd Annual Sustainable Sukkah Project

Sukkot Seder Under the Setting Sun

You’re invited to join the EcoJews community for our third annual innovative and green Sukkot celebration! Hayes Valley Farm is once again providing the urban agricultural setting for a unique seder exploring Sukkot’s timeless environmental messages, a community potluck dinner, and a Havdallah ceremony with music and singing under the stars.

More Program Highlights Include:

·  Decorating our sukkah

·  Tour of Hayes Valley Farm in the heart of San Francisco

·  Making your own cleaning products at our Tox-out Workshop

·  Shaking the lulav and etrog

Tox-out Workshop

Why make your own cleaning products on Sukkot?

The central symbol of Sukkot is a temporary outdoor shelter, the Sukkah, which makes us more vulnerable to and in touch with the world around us. In our own permanent homes we can choose to keep ourselves and our environment protected by using less toxic cleaning products.

Learn how to easily (and cheaply!) make your own at our Tox-out Workshop. We’ll provide the ingredients, you bring a spray bottle and a clean jar. Everyone can take home recipes for a variety of cleaning solutions.

Location

Hayes Valley Farm, on Laguna btwn Fell and Oak Sts., San Francisco

About the location: Hayes Valley Farm is a community and agricultural hub empowering San Francisco residents to connect with one another, grow their own food, and learn about sustainable ecological systems. Organized by an alliance of urban farmers, garden educators, and landscape designers, Hayes Valley Farm has transformed a former freeway site. Activities and workshops empower volunteers by encouraging the use of resources available on site. http://www.hayesvalleyfarm.com/
